2018 Speaker Bio:
Matt Jones was hired as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Texas Southern University in June 2017. Jones arrived at TSU after serving in a similar capacity at Jackson State University for the 2016 season.
From 2014-15, he was an offensive graduate assistant coach at Tulane.
Jones went to Tulane after spending the 2013 season as the tight ends coach at Villanova University, where he helped the Wildcats to a the 8th ranked rushing attack in the country.
Prior to Villanova, Jones coached at Avila University in Kansas City, Mo., for two seasons as the offensive line coach, as well as the run game and academic coordinator. Jones helped Avila set 16 offensive school records, including fewest sacks allowed, rushing yards in a season and rushing touchdowns.
Before Avila, Jones spent two years at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL as tight ends coach in 2009 and offensive line coach and run game coordinator in 2010 where he helped break 9 school records including sacks allowed (7).
In 2008, Jones coached both the offensive and defensive lines at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox, IL. Jones got his start in coaching as a student assistant at his alma mater Eastern Illinois University under head coach Bob Spoo in 2007.
Jones has established himself as one of the most respected voices in the offensive line community. Through his #LinemanLunch social media pages, there is more than 65,000 people that follow his insight and analysis of offensive line play.
